What to Expect
If you would like to take part in the live classes, read the Welcome to CTP Word Without Walls blog post for call-in information. Each class will begin with prayer, an introduction by the leader, and the lesson for the week. There will be opportunities for you to ask questions, make comments, or share your thoughts about the week’s lesson and join in our closing prayer. This blog will serve as a supplement to the classes, providing a summary of each week’s lesson as well a place to share what God reveals to you through each study. We have also created a closed Facebook group How to Participate We’d like to encourage you to post comments so that we may learn from each other. The Post a Comment section below allows you to interact with other women in responding to the lessons, asking comments, or just sharing your personal reflections or prayer requests. The extent to which you participate is completely up to you, but it’s exciting and encouraging to see that you have been affected in some way by the lessons being offered so please feel free to interact by clicking on the pencil icon below. We also want you to know that you can click on the RSS Feed link to the right to follow the blog and provide us with your email address. When you subscribe to a blog, you will get updates by email or by a blog feed (called RSS) each time the blog is updated. When the blog author writes a new article, you’ll receive an update with just that article. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY SOLICITATION FROM US, NOR WILL WE SHARE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS WITH ANY OTHER ENTITY. Finally, feel free to share our blog via email, blog, Twitter, or Facebook using the widgets below. The more the merrier! Helpful Tips Here are a few tips to help you make the most of your participation in our Word Without Walls classes or any other bible study in which you participate. Pray - Psalm 119:18 Sometimes reading the bible can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you are a new Christian. Following along with a group can help to focus your reading and provide support when you have questions. Prior to beginning any bible study - either on your own or as part of a group - pray and ask God to open up your understanding to His word. Ask that He will give you ears to hear and a heart to receive any personal message that He wants to share with you during the study. Remember that each time you study your bible, it is an opportunity for God to speak directly to you. End each study time with prayer, thanking God for the truths He has revealed to you. Prepare – 2 Timothy 3:16 Read the upcoming material prior to joining in on the conference call. This will allow you to be more familiar with the lesson and prepared to comment or answer questions that the leader may have for the group. Gather the following items before each class: · a Bible (most scriptural references for our classes will be either in the King James or New King James format), · the book for the current study, · a journal or notebook, · a pen/pencil and highlighter to take notes as you work through each study or highlight items that speak to you. Ponder – Psalm 119:11 After your study time is over, reflect on what you’ve read. Meditating on God’s word will help it become more real and personal to you, and the Holy Spirit will use this time to help you apply what you’ve learned to your daily life. Also, be sure to read any scriptures referenced in the study yourself – it enhances the lesson and helps the Word of God move from off the pages and into your heart. Persist – Romans 15:4-5 Studying the bible takes commitment on our part. Ask God to help you be faithful to whatever bible study you choose to follow, and continue the study until it ends so that you can reap all of the treasures found in each lesson.
